Day of the Far East region at the Russian Trade Representation in Finland

On the 27th of February 2019 the delegation of the Far East region headed by the CEO’s of the Far East Investment & Export Agency, together with representatives of institutes of development and local authorities from Far East region Administrations will meet Finnish companies to discuss opportunities for business cooperation.
The Far East region is one of the rapidly developing industrial and agricultural regions of Russia. The world’s longest railways lines in the world run across the Far East, and the major infrastructural and modernization projects are being developed in the region which is of priority importance for the Russian government. More than half of the forest reserves of the entire Asia-Pacific region, more than a third of fresh water, 27% of gas and 17% of oil are concentrated in the more than six million square kilometers of the Russian Far East.
The main objective of the meeting is to present the investment and economic potential of the Far East region, promote trade relations with Finland, and invite Finnish partners to cooperate in the following industries:
- Energy and energy efficiency;
- Mining industry;
- Power industry;
- Fishery and aquaculture;
- Wood harvesting and processing;
- Machine building;
- Tourism and related infrastructure;
- Healthcare and telemedicine;
- Port infrastructure;
